This is our family villa in the gated community of El Rosario, on a hillside looking out over the Marbella Golf Club to the coast, Gibraltar and — on a clear day — the mountains of Morocco. We host it ourselves, so when you write to us, an actual family member writes back.

The setting
El Rosario, not the strip
Marbella's coast has a front row and a back garden. El Rosario is the back garden — a gated, tree-lined hillside community with a security guard at the entrance, home to the families who actually live here year-round rather than a hotel zone. Just below the villa you'll find a supermarket, a bakery for breakfast, and a small tennis club with two restaurants, all a couple of minutes away.
From the terrace the view runs straight over the Marbella Golf Club to the coastline — Gibraltar is visible, and on clear days, the Atlas mountains of Morocco.
